| Message | I helped him install his turbo kit. The turbos needed to be re-clocked, the adapter plates to re-clock other turbo pipes made the situation worse regardless of turbo clock position. We kept on running into problems with the first factory boost hard pipe comming out of the turbo. They did not fit properly, the pipe would hit the shock towers no matter what setup permutation we could come up with. Even if you could get everything to fit, the adapter plates are rinkydink aluminum less that 1/4" thick which leads to a high probability of threads stripping and boost leaks. The turbos themselves perform pretty well. I am comparing them to my sport 530bb setup. The 600's pull a little harder 5K+ rpms at slightly lower boost levels compared to my setup. However you mix in my 410's in the rear of my car, it spices things up a little. We both did side by side 2nd or 3rd gear pulls from about 2.8k, and I could consistanly get about 2-3 car lengths on him before you can say Jack Robinson, however if mike can keep the car in the upper RPM's when we do standing launches its about equal if not a little more in his court depending on how well we shift etc. differences in our setups:Mike's setup = 600'r, 17-18 lbs boost, stock timming, stock gears.
my setup = 530bb, 20 lbs boost with water injection timming advanced about 2 degrees with 410's
Under track conditions the 530's rock, the 600's would need the 410's to be easier to drive on tracks like Road America, Blackhawk, etc...
